Our Time in Byron Bay

Sharing the last of our Australia pics! After we spent a few days in Sydney, we flew up to Byron Bay! I 1000% recommend! We loved it so much. On our first day we walked into a cafe and Matt Damon was there!!! Byron Bay is pretty small so it was really easy to get everywhere and there were a ton of cute shops and places to eat! Folk Cafe, Combi and the General Store were my favs. Everyone in Byron Bay was beautiful, tan, and barefoot! I would totally go back here.

Also a funny story about leaving Byron Bay… we flew in and out of the OOL airport to get there. We had a super early flight back to Sydney and the airport was about an hour drive from our airbnb, so we had to get up around 3 am to make sure we made it on time. Once we were almost there, we realized that the maps app was telling us that we were going to get there at 3:30 am instead of 4:30 like we thought… we were so confused and that’s when we realized that 3/4 of our phones were also telling us that it was now 3:30 am!! I looked up if there was a time difference between Byron Bay and the OOL airport (not sure the name of the city it’s in), and the internet told me no!!! Long story short, there IS a time change and we had NO idea. None of us had noticed that on the drive from the airport to Byron Bay on the way there, we had lost an hour and the time changed!! Luckily the time change was in our favor so we were early and not late, but I feel like this is an important lesson to learn!! Always check if there is a time change between your travel destinations haha! I was thinking for sure there wasn’t because we drove up such a short distance and usually time changes are in vertical lines… but if you look at an Australian time zone map, some of them are horizontal!

Anyways, we made it on our flight with plenty of time to spare and now we have a fun story to laugh about! Hope you guys enjoyed!
