Tokyo, Japan

STRIPED SET | HAT

I wanted to share some of my pics from Tokyo! I brought my best friend Lauren here for her graduation trip and we had so much fun! I didn’t take a ton of pictures because I wanted to be in the moment and try not to have as much work to do but I did vlog the trip! I will share the video below. My main concern with going to Japan was the food and the language barrier and unfortunately I would say I was right to worry about both of those things haha! I prefer to eat a vegan diet as often as possible and in Japan they cook almost everything with meat or fish so it was really hard to find things to eat, and also almost no one spoke English! Which is obviously expected but normally if I am in Spain or something I can plug a phrase into Google Translate but you can’t really do that with Japanese! One thing we did love though was the subway system!! It was soooo easy to use and SO cheap. Lauren has family in Singapore and they recommended we take the subway and I really was against it at first because I thought it would be stressful but it was really so easy! I downloaded the app and just put in the station we wanted to go to and it gave exact directions! We only messed up once or twice. 😉We also stayed at the Ritz Carlton which was so amazing and beautiful! It was in a great location and there was a subway station right next to the hotel, and tons of ramen close by! I think we ate ramen literally every single day… sometimes twice a day!! My fav place in Tokyo was Harajuku street! They have the most fun shops and lots of cool food! We also took a train to Kyoto and stayed there for a few days! I think I liked Tokyo more because I love being in a city but Lauren liked Kyoto more! They are completely different experiences and I recommend doing both if you can!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post!

Love all your pictures! I really want to go to Japan, but like you said am super nervous about the language barrier and food. I’m allergic to soy so I’m pretty sure all I’d be able to eat there is bread haha
