A few months ago, I was randomly looking at flights to San Francisco and they were so inexpensive I decided to just buy them right then and there! We asked some friends if they wanted to come with us, and we all had the trip of a lifetime…
The houses and buildings here are all beautiful!
At Fisherman’s Wharf!
Lombard Street! Also I just remembered how I was trying to photoshop out a person in the background and then never finished haha so see if you can spot a pair of legs in this pic ;)
San Francisco was SO FUN! Whilst preparing for the trip I looked online for tourist and information guides specifically tailored for San Franscisco things to do and and places to see, and I found several, I couldn’t believe my eyes there were so many I knew that in order for us to be able to fit everything in it was going to be one fun packed trip, it’s definitely not the holiday destination to choose if you want to sit back and relax but for us it was the perfect location. The trip actually started off kind of crazy when I lost my wallet and we missed our flight. I have already explained the story in a vlog and on snapchat but here it is again incase any of you haven’t heard it (and I will tell more details so that it’s still interesting for those of you who have heard it haha)! Usually when Parker and I go on trips, we park our car at the airport and just deal with the parking fee. I don’t know why I never thought to park it anywhere else and then take an Uber to the airport, but our friends were driving so they wanted to drop the car off at a hotel and then Uber there (we fly out of an airport a few hours away from home so just having someone drop us off at the airport isn’t really an option!). As soon as we got to the airport, we walked up to the self check-in kiosks and Parker was holding my purse so I asked him to hand me my wallet so I could get out my card since it was asking me to swipe it to let us all check in. But guess what wasn’t in my purse. THE WALLET!! I called the Uber we had just been in and the driver said it wasn’t in his car, and we had just been to the mall before we headed to the airport and I bought Jamba Juice as we were walking out the door so I knew I had my wallet when we left and I figured I left it in my friend’s car. We had gotten to the airport slightly later than we planned so I knew we would miss our flight since I had to go all way back to the hotel to get my wallet and then drive alllllll the way back to the airport. Parker and I left our friends and told them to check in at the desk and get on the flight and we would meet them in SF later since we were sure there was another flight we could hop on later that day. As we were in the car I checked Travelocity to see what other flights to SF were going out today and it said the next one was at 8 pm! It was only 2 in the afternoon so to have to wait that long for a flight was kind of a bummer. We finally got to the hotel and found my wallet in the bottom of my shopping bag! I don’t even know how it got in there, I was thinking it had probably just fallen out of my purse onto the seat. We finally made it back to the airport (we also hit every single red light on the way to the hotel and on the way back to the airport) and our flight was leaving in 20 minutes. I tried to check in on a kiosk and was hoping we could just somehow make the flight but it told me I was past the check in time so we went up to a desk and they told us we could get on the 4:00 pm flight. By this point I wasn’t even worried about the flight I was just glad we found my wallet and since the next flight was 4 hours earlier than I saw on Travelocity I was fine with that! We walked over to the security line and it was SO long! We assumed it would be short when we got there since it was the middle of the afternoon on a Thursday but we were wrong. We stood there for a few minutes and then decided to go back to the check in desk and ask to have TSA pre-check put on our tickets since we hadn’t remembered to ask when we were originally checking in (we have had TSA pre-check for months now and just barely remembered to use it). Once they did that we got through security really quick and then we came out the other side and we were in the E gates. I saw on my Travelocity app that our flight was going out of the E gates and for some reason I was thinking that you had to take the tram to get to the E gates and that usually takes an extra 10 minutes so when we originally got back to the airport I figured that since the E gates were far away there was for sure no way we would make it. But then when I realized that the E gates were right on the other side of security I was like UGH IF WE HAD BEEN FASTER AND ASKED FOR TSA PRE-CHECK THE FIRST TIME WE CHECKED IN WE WOULD HAVE MADE IT ON OUR ORIGINAL FLIGHT! The friends we went with hadn’t really flown a lot before so I felt bad that we weren’t on the same flight because I didn’t want them to have any issues so I was just sitting there thinking “if only we had asked for pre-check the first time” since we got to the gate at the exact time our first flight was supposed to leave. We had about an hour and a half until boarding so we set our stuff down and I noticed that a Jet Blue flight was leaving a little sooner than ours so I decided to walk over there just to see if we could hop on that flight instead if it wasn’t full. Before I got over to that gate Parker called me and told me that he was with our friends and that they had missed their flight!! I was like WHAT! HOW! I still don’t know how that happened… they claimed that they were at their gate but the sign was broken and said Los Angeles instead of San Francisco and also that no one on the intercom was calling for their flight… but when they were reserving their seats on the flight we were on I asked the lady if our flight had left early or something and she said no and that they were going up and down the aisles of seats calling for the SF flight since there were quite a few people missing haha so I think our friends just weren’t paying attention ;) Anyways, everything all worked out and we were all on the same flight! It was so funny because I was so stressed about missing our first flight and our friends getting there alone but it all worked out just fine! So I guess it’s a good thing we didn’t ask for pre-check first and get on that flight haha! So now that that story is over (comment below if you even read the whole thing, I feel like I wrote a novel but I always love reading stories on blogs!), these pictures are from our first day here! We just acted like tourists the whole time and went sightseeing everyday. These pictures are from Lombard Street, the Painted Ladies, and Fisherman’s Wharf! We vlogged this trip so I will link those videos here, here, and here, and I will also have a San Fran travel diary video coming soon! Thanks for reading guys! I love you all!
